Installing CloudBerry Online Backup

There are a few things to know before you begin installing CloudBerry Online Backup on your chosen operating environment. This article outlines these; along with the various steps to take to successfully install regardless of being Windows, Linux or MacOS based.

Before beginning the installation process; make sure that the Managed Backup Service console has been configured.

Installing CloudBerry Online Backup on Windows Based Systems

Once you’ve downloaded the CloudBerry Online Backup installation package; copy it onto the endpoint or server that CloudBerry Online Backup will be installed on.

To begin the installation process:

1. Right click the installation file and select Run as Administrator.

2. If you’re presented with a security warning; click the Run option

3. The CloudBerry Online Backup Setup Wizard will now launch; click Next to proceed.

4. Choose where to place the CloudBerry Online Backup installation folder on the machine and click Install to begin the installation process.

A progress bar of the installation progress will now appear.

5. Once complete; there is an option to tick to ‘Run Online Backup’ and click Finish.

CloudBerry Online Backup UI will now launch; ready for configuration.

Installing CloudBerry Online Backup on Linux Based Systems

Once you’ve downloaded the CloudBerry Online Backup installation package; copy it onto the Linux systems that CloudBerry Online Backup will be installed on.

To begin the installation process:

1. Once the installation package is on the system; double click to launch the installation process.

2. On the popup window, click the Install button to begin the installation process.
An authentication window may appear to allow the installation process to begin.

3. The installation process will now begin and a progress bar displayed. Once complete; the Install button will have changed to Remove. It’s safe to close this window.

4. Search within the operating systems Applications for ‘Online Backup’ and click on the CloudBerry Online Backup icon to launch the software.

CloudBerry Online Backup will launch and can begin to be configured.

Installing CloudBerry Online Backup on MacOS Systems

Once you’ve downloaded the CloudBerry Online Backup installation package; copy it onto the Mac systems that CloudBerry Online Backup will be installed on.

To begin the installation process:

1. Once the installation package is on the system; double click to launch the installation wizard.

2. The wizard will then open and display the following introduction screen. Click Continue to proceed.

 

3. The Installation Type screen will be displayed. You can choose to change the installation path of CloudBerry Online Backup by clicking ‘Change Install Location…’.

Once you’ve either changed the installation location; or just using the default location click Install to begin the installation process.

4. The installation process will now begin and a progress bar displayed. Once complete; the following success screen is displayed. It’s now safe to close this window.

5. Search within the operating systems Applications for ‘Online Backup’ and click on the CloudBerry Online Backup icon to launch the software.

CloudBerry Online Backup will launch and can begin to be configured.
